Lupin Acquires UK-Based Renascience Pharma for Twelve Point Three Million Pounds

The UK-based pharmaceutical company Renascience Pharma Limited has been acquired by Lupin Healthcare (UK) Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Lupin Pharmaceuticals. For 12.3 million pounds, Lupin purchases complete ownership of Renascience and its four specialty pharmaceutical product lines.

Renascience, founded in 2015, provides niche branded bio-generic products to primary and secondary care providers in the United Kingdom. The company's main products are injectables for infectious diseases, ear drops for pain management, and an oral therapy used in cardiology and nephrology. XAQUA, a diuretic, and OTIGO, an ear drop formulation, generate nearly 90 percent of its revenue. The company reported a turnover of 3.51 million pounds for the fiscal year ending February 2025, an increase from 1.87 million pounds in FY24 and 0.72 million pounds in FY23.

Lupin claims that the acquisition will strengthen its branded pharmaceuticals business in the UK.The business has been growing its presence in the region, focusing on providing drugs for unmet medical needs.

According to Fabrice Egros, President of Corporate Development at Lupin, the action is in line with the company's plan to increase the number of branded medications it offers in the UK.He underlined that offering affordable and sustainable healthcare solutions continues to be the company's top priority.

According to Eric Che, co-founder and director of Renascience, the acquisition will help the company grow and fortify its current operations.

The definitive agreement was executed concurrently with the acquisition, which did not require any regulatory approvals. As of right now, Lupin Healthcare (UK) Limited will own all of Renascience.

The UK-based Lupin Healthcare, a division of Lupin Limited, focuses on therapeutic domains like antiretrovirals, women's health, neuroscience, and respiratory therapies. Pharmaceutical products in these categories are provided by the company in partnership with the National Health Service (NHS).
