On 29th May 2025, the Government of India launched a new digital platform called the Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal. The event was held at Vanijya Bhawan in New Delhi during the Ayush Stakeholder and Industry Interaction Meet. The portal was jointly launched by Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, and Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush.
The event was attended by key government officials, industry leaders, and international guests. Among them were Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, and Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
The Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal is designed to help investors, both from India and abroad, explore opportunities in the Ayush sector. It brings together essential information, including policies, incentives, investment-ready projects, and real-time support, in a single, easy-to-use platform. This digital step is expected to support India’s traditional wellness systems and turn them into a powerful economic force.
According to Piyush Goyal, the portal shows that India is open to new ideas and investment in holistic healthcare. He highlighted that 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is permitted in the Ayush sector and stated that the portal will connect investors with both opportunities and India’s rich tradition of wellness.
Prataprao Jadhav called the portal a ‘transformation enabler.’ He noted that India has over 8,000 medicinal plant species and a strong reputation for natural healing systems. The new portal, he said, will offer clear policy guidance, real-time data, and a direct link to one of the fastest-growing industries in India.
The Ayush sector has grown rapidly, with an annual growth rate of 17% from 2014 to 2020. It also plays a big role in India's medical value travel (MVT) industry, which is worth USD 13 billion globally. Ayush is now among the top five health services in India. With this new portal, the government hopes to attract more investment, create new jobs, and strengthen India’s position as a global leader in traditional medicine and wellness.
