EDGE, one of the world's leading advanced technology companies and defense groups, has signed a strategic letter of intent with the Brazilian Navy's Weapons Systems Directorate to jointly develop anti-drone systems.
The next step will be to form a joint working group with technical experts from both parties to advance the existing partnership.
According to the statement, the goal of this collaboration is to create and deploy counter-drone systems tailored to naval defense requirements, with an emphasis on autonomous surface and aerial technologies.
These systems will use advanced sensors like radars and electro-optical technologies, as well as signal jamming capabilities, to effectively counter threats from autonomous air and surface vehicles.
The document between EDGE and the Brazilian Navy was signed at LAAD Defense and Security 2025, which is currently taking place at the Riocentro Exhibition and Convention Centre in Rio de Janeiro.
This milestone demonstrates a continued commitment to improving technical, operational, and logistical cooperation with the Brazilian Navy, with a shared goal of developing sophisticated anti-drone systems for naval applications.
